YJS Probation Officer - Children’s Services - Bolton Are you a passionate, dedicated YJS Probation Officer looking for your next role 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a YJS Probation Officer to join a Children’s Service based in Bolton. Umbrella Rate: £37 per hour Duration: 11/12/2023 – 23/02/2023 initially Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 hrs/week – Hybrid YJS Probation Officer role: Full JD Available Working with young people aged 10 – 17 and their families who get arrested, are arrested for a crime and receive an out of court disposal, are charged with a crime and have to go to court, are convicted of a crime and are given a sentence Undertake backssment’s which lead to providing a package of support, taking into account the young person, family, victim, and wider community Assess the risk of serious harm and safety and well-being to ensure that appropriate measures are implemented Prepare a range of formal reports such as Pre-Sentence Reports and Referral Order Reports Deliver interventions to reduce reoffending Act as YJS advisor at Referral Order Panels / Appropriate Adult in PACE interviews/work as part of the YJS duty rota / work flexibly to cover the absence of other team members Represent the YJS and provide a service in the Magistrates, Crown and Civil Courts as required Work in partnership with relevant agencies and other council departments Access and maintain the YJS database and any additional systems to provide accurate information, access to services, advice and support Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary Essential Requirements Social Work England Registration A minimum of 1 year experience in a Youth Offending Team Experience of partnership working in a multi-agency setting with young people who have offended and their families Knowledge and ability to link backssments with the planning and delivery of the appropriate interventions to address offending behaviour Knowledge of legislation relevant to the work.
