JOB OVERVIEW Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, analytical, consultative and results driven technical professional to join our team in the role of Model Developer for our Downtown Toronto location. Reporting to the Director of Term Trading, the Model Developer is responsible for building or enhancing fundamental market models or other analytical tools that support Trading activities. The applications of these models/tools include simulation of: market prices in Ontario and nearby markets of interest to OPG; production of OPG generators, their fuel costs and emissions; OPG gross profit margin; Transmission Right values; and the associated risk distributions for these variables. Other applications include developing or enhancing analytic tools and information systems, as required, to address portfolio optimization problems such as fuel procurement, hydro water management, hedging strategies, the valuation of trading and fuel transactions, and to estimate risk measures for the business.
