Human Resource (HR) Generalist

The Village Family Service Center is seeking a passionate and skilled HR Generalist to join our team. As an HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our human resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll and performance management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and mission-driven organization that values its employees and encourages professional development. Position will have hybrid office opportunities with in office and remote hours each week. Roles and responsibilities include: Manage the online recruiting system and onboarding new hires Be a resource for employees for all benefits programs Facilitate the entire employee lifecycle, including payroll processing, leave administration, and employment policy review Establish and maintain an effective and credible relationship with both supervisors and employees; work closely with supervisors to provide support, planning, and problem-solving Coordinates administrative aspects of human resource activities Foster open communications with business partners and employees Manage human resource information system (HRIS) Successful candidates will meet the following criteria: Bachelor's degree in human resources or 3 years experience in a related field SHRM and/or PHR certification a plus but not required Excellent project management and ability to prioritize based on importance Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing employee relations practices Demonstrated organizational skills, excellent prioritization, and time management skills Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills Able to maintain confidentiality of a sensitive nature Good interpersonal and communication skills Must be self-directed and highly motivated Why you want to work at The Village: Get insured!
