Position will be open until filled. What does the City Manager's Office do? The City Manager's Office serves the citizens of San Angelo by directing all municipal government services and activities. As the chief executive officer for the municipality, the city manager is the staff liaison to the City Council. The office is composed of the city manager, two assistant city managers and the executive assistant to the city manager. What you'll do: Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day administrative operations of the chief executive officer. Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls; greet and direct office visitors. Conducts a variety of records management functions; organizes, updates, and maintains records and filing systems for the chief executive officer. Perform potentially confidential and complex administrative duties involving Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including composing formal business letters and memos, creating/updating spreadsheets, and compiling presentations. Prepares budgets for the chief executive officer; reviews and monitors accounts; prepares budget amendments as necessary. Coordinates events for the chief executive officer and City Council. Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. is typical, but some nights and weekends will be required Regular and timely attendance. Other duties as assigned. What you'll need: Education and Experience: Associates Degree in related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Three years of experience as an executive assistant and/or office manager. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Licenses or Certifications: Must possess a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record. Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure. Must be: Discrete and trustworthy with confidential information Detail Oriented and highly organized Able to multi-task Adaptable and willing to embrace change Composed in stressful situations Knowledge of: Frequently used computer software and programs, such as Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Bookkeeping and Accounting Principles. Basic formatting for business letter and memo composition. Records management principles and standards. Required Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Specifically, in formal business letters and memoranda. Event Coordination Strong Interpersonal Skills. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Time Management. Physical Demands / Work Environment: Work is performed in a standard office environment. Subject to sitting for extended periods of time, standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.
