Department Wheels Department Department Mission Develop and oversee the execution of a meaningful ATV Trek program developing leadership, character, knowledge, and fitness for ATV participants of varying ability levels in an ATV trek. Location Summit Bechtel Reserve (SBR) Contract Time Period: B May 20 - Aug 12 Monthly Salary $1330 - $1470 + Room & Board Direct Report ATV Experience Director Employee Profile and Desired Traits ● High level emotional intelligence ● Active in team dynamics, conflict prevention /resolution , and identifying customer needs ● Cheerful attitude and servant leadership disposition ● Dedicated customer service and people oriented ● Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn ● Ability to interact with men and women of all ages and maturity levels of staff/customers Principle Responsibilities ● Guide 10-12 participants through weeklong ATV trek consisting of 40-50 miles ● Coach and instruct participants of all levels to safely operate ATVs ● Teach participants to overcome fears and provide feedback to better their experience ● Conduct daily inspections of equipment and perform basic ATV maintenance ● Guarantee that all riders are properly trained and documented ● Perform off road motor vehicle rescues and render first aid as needed. ● Assist with the set up and takedown of the ATV facilities and equipment ● Ensure that all equipment is used properly, inventoried, and returned in good repair ● Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership ● Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbook Qualifications & Training ● 21 years of age or older ● Required: Complete "Wilderness First Aid" (training provided) ● Required: Complete ASI trainer course (training provided) ● Preferred: Experience riding ATVs and/or teaching or guiding off road vehicles ● Demonstrate proficiency riding an ATV ● Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination ● Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America Performance Results ● Completes contract period with 2-4 positive experiences ● Receive one or more Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants ● Provide at least one memorable moment that matters to a participant ● Contribute at least one improvement to the ATV Experience program Physical Requirements ● Up to 9 hours a day of either standing, walking, hiking, and the ability to lift 60-80 lbs. ● Can pass the physical exam and approved for SBR height and weight requirements HERE Uniform Summit staff uniform Housing 10x12' Platform Tent; Foxtrot Staff Camp Expected Weekly Hours 55 - 65
