Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the accounting team and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including but not limited to, financial reporting, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close procedures. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will possess technical accounting skills, demonstrate initiative, and exhibit a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, with the potential for growth within the organization.Job Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Compile and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Record journal entries for various transactions accurately and timely. Support month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and review reconciliations for various accounts. Assist in financial analysis and variance explanations. Provide support for budgeting and forecasting activities. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations. Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements. Implement best practices to streamline accounting processes. Demonstrate a commitment to OLS core values of FORTITUDE. Take initiative and accountability in tackling new challenges and expanding responsibilities to contribute to the overall success of the finance team.Minimum Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar); NetSuite experience preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Initiative-driven with a proactive approach to work. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and learn new skills. Potential for growth and promotability within the organization.Physical Demands Occasionally required to stand/walk Frequently required to talk or hear Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at timesWork EnvironmentFull-time position requiring a standard office schedule of 45+hours per week, Monday through Friday.
