Date Posted: 08/23/2023 Req ID: 33602 Faculty/Division: Vice-Provost, Students Department: University Admissions and Outreach Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: Position Summary: This job is responsible for planning and managing undergraduate admissions processes for all direct entry programs at the University. The incumbent must maintain expertise in current research and best practice in admission policy and process and is responsible for providing information and advice to undergraduate divisions concerning the admission process. This role further acts as a resource to divisional committees. The incumbent is responsible for managing a team of admissions counsellors who support the processing of applications for admission and the release of admissions decisions. Qualifications Required: Education: A Master’s degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in a related area; Demonstrated progressive University admissions experience with and excellent and thorough understanding of higher education systems and policies worldwide, and a similarly thorough understanding of university systems and policies as they relate to admission of undergraduate students; Demonstrated commitment to diversity issues; Excellent knowledge of University of Toronto programs and admission requirements and of the overall university structure; Demonstrated experience managing in a unionized environment; Experience in public speaking or staff training. Skills: Excellent computer and word-processing skills using MS Office; Experience using ROSI (Repository of Student Information) or a similar Student Information database an asset. Other: Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines and respond to changing work priorities quickly and effectively; Ability to manage work and resources in a changing and often unpredictable environment; Ability to.
