Duties The Maintenance Worker will be supported by the Site Supervisor, Balmoral Grist Mill and Sutherland Steam Mill. This position would fit well with someone who would enjoy working outdoors and in unheated historic buildings. You will be assisting with the operation and maintenance of tools and equipment for milling and maintaining the buildings, grounds and trails. Engaging with visitors and assisting your co-workers with events, programs and exhibits would also be part of your role. Qualifications and Experience Grade 10 and minimum of two years related experience. Knowledge and experience in general carpentry, painting, building and grounds maintenance, minor electrical repairs and related equipment are required. Must be interested in learning about the machinery and operations of these historic mill sites Must be self-directed, able to take initiative and work independently but also demonstrate teamwork and respect for the diversity of others. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience working with the public in a historic site or park environment is considered an asset. Computer proficiency including the Internet, emailing, web-based applications, word processing, using forms and templates is required.
