Type: Full Time Location: Newport, RI Overtime Exempt: No Reports To: ARMADA HQ Security Clearance Required: Active Secret ****************CONTINGENT UPON AWARDING OF GOVERNMENT CONTRACT******** The Security Specialist I (COMSEC) shall manage and perform the following: Duties & Responsibilities: Project Tracking & Administrative Services. All Security Specialist I (COMSEC), hereinafter COMSEC, performing the below tasks shall be qualified to perform services in support of Foreign Visits, Courier Card Program, Classified Mail Discrepancy Program, Classified Material Access Control (to include RAPIDS, Visitor Control, and Check-In Desk). Upon receipt of GFI, the COMSEC shall conduct research on security related subject matter including the impact of DoD, DoN, federal, state, and local regulations, and policy changes on NUWCDIVNPT security plans and policies. The COMSEC shall provide recommendations for revisions to NUWCDIVNPT security plans and policies which include milestone charts, graphical presentation material, progress reports, and action items. Upon receipt of GFI, the COMSEC shall track progress on the implementation of the updated security plan and provide weekly metrics and data reports on the status of the security plan. On an annual basis and upon receipt of GFI (previous year's security risk assessment), the COMSEC shall review and provide recommendations for updates to the security assessment based on changes to higher headquarter guidance, regulatory changes, and operational requirements. Using GFI, the COMSEC shall perform administrative tasks in support of 105 including filing, typing, copying, faxing, scanning, and answering phones. On a daily basis, the COMSEC shall provide technical oversight and quality control of assigned programs. Other duties as assigned. Communications Security (COMSEC). The Security Specialist (COMSEC) shall perform the following COMSEC user tasking: All COMSEC personnel performing this tasking shall hold, at a minimum, a Final Secret security clearance. Using GFI, COMSEC shall fill COMSEC keying materials into COMSEC equipment. Using GFI, COMSEC shall sign as a witness for issuing COMSEC materials. Using GFI, COMSEC shall perform software or firmware updates on COMSEC equipment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Minimum/General Experience: The COMSEC must have the experience, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Must demonstrate the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to learn and perform the cited position's duties. Must demonstrate knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information and the process for granting personnel security clearances/accesses, and knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out information, personnel, and physical security programs related to the protection of SCI. The COMSEC should have knowledge of the methods of performing such duties as conducting inspections and investigations, collecting, and analyzing information, etc., and skill in weighing the impact of variables such as critical personnel qualifications, variations in building construction characteristics, access and entry restrictions, equipment availability, and other issues that influence the course of actions taken in resolving security questions and issues.
