Pay range $33.00-38.00 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates the timely completion of in-house testing to meet production schedules. Develops, validates, documents and approves new testing methods for incoming raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods. Drafts, finalizes and approves raw material, in-process, and finished product specifications. Responsible for assuring that laboratory equipment is validated, calibrated and properly maintained. Responsible for assuring that all laboratory procedures adhere to good laboratory practices (GLP). Responsible for the overall operation of the laboratory and its personnel. As a Quality Control Manager you will: 1 Ultimately responsible for the timely testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods to meet production and product shipping demands. Responsible for coordinating within own department adequate supply of reagent, good working instrumentation condition and queue list completion. 2 Reviews and approves routine testing for production release or customer shipping. Drafts, validates, documents and approves new method development as well as special validation protocols, challenge studies or cleaning validation studies as assigned. 3 Expert in the development of applicable analytical methods using various chromatographic techniques. Writes installation, operation and performance qualification protocol documentation to substantiate new method development or equipment validation. 4 Develops laboratory policies and procedure and issues updates as needed. 5 Ultimately responsible for adherence of laboratory operations and personnel to good laboratory practices (GLP), which includes training records in job specific testing methods, TM, and company-wide standard operating procedures, SOP's. 6 Conducts out-of-spec (OOS) investigations and writes up reports. 7 Responsible for overseeing day-to-day QC lab operations and personnel. 8 Maintains detailed and accurate level of lab supplies. 9 Responsible for and support certain daily tasks such as sending out sample to 3rd party laborator(ies) for required testing, coordinating and interacting with said 3rd party laborator(ies) for status update of samples to resolve any testing issues as needed. 10 Interacts with and provides technical support to other departments as needed. 11 Performs other duties as assigned by upper management as necessary, to include assistance in regulatory audits as needed. This is a long term opportunity The ideal candidate will have: 1 Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a science or technical field. 2 5+ years of experience in a related field required. 3 3+ years of supervisory experience required. 4 Advance analytical and math skills, statistical programming knowledge very useful. Computer literate, including standard commercial software packages. 5 Knowledge of nutritional testing methods helpful. 6 Working and troubleshooting knowledge of gas and liquid chromatography plus other standard laboratory techniques and instrumentation and problem solving using "root cause analysis". 7 Flexibility in work hours preferred. 8 Ability to work with no supervision in a fast-paced environment and under moving deadlines /priorities.
