Wilcox develops innovative, world class electro-mechanical combat systems for today’s warfighters and law enforcement officers. We are currently seeking engineering interns in the following areas: Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer, Firmware/Software, and Program Management. Below are the responsibilities and required qualifications for each paid internship. When applying please specify in your cover letter which internship(s) you are applying for. These are on-site positions. Mechanical Engineering Assist with simple component CAD design of head borne systems projects. Assist with drawings and documentation of projects. Provide design support for fixtures and housings. Assist in ordering parts and assembly of prototypes. Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so support business needs. Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and have completed your sophomore year. CAD experience. M echanical Manufacturing Engineer Assist with data collection and documentation for testing. Light design work for fixtures and tools. Perform granite table measurements to troubleshoot parts. Write ECRs. Assist with solving technical issues in production using 8D/5 Why methodology. Learn how to create process documents and SOPs. Assist with design for manufacturability improvements. Perform other duties as necessary when directed to do so to support business needs. Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and have completed your sophomore year. CAD experience Firmware/Software Read and write programs on embedded devices. Work with build and deployment systems. Develop test algorithms and measure firmware performance. Document software design flows, and create functional descriptions. Assist in software management system updates. Participate in hardware unit testing with a variety of products. Perform other duties as necessary when directed to do so to support business needs. Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and have completed your sophomore year. C or C++ programming experience required. Program Management Review and understand production schedule. Review key suppliers and identify top risks associated with each supplier. Understand priority list for tasks related to achieving program goals. Assist in continuous improvement projects. Work with Operations and Quality to better understand and mitigate production risks. Perform other duties as necessary when directed to do so to support business needs. Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and has an interest in program management and have completed your sophomore year. Qualifications and Requirements for all Internships Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly. Self-motivated and flexible, able to work within a team and as an individual. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels of an organization. Strong desire to learn and contribute. Regular on-site attendance is a necessary function of this position. Wilcox is a U.S. government defense contractor, and this position requires access to export-controlled technology. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access U.S. government-controlled technology prior to beginning work.
