Medical Secretary/Technician Can you multi-task and continue to have a smile on your face? Our practice needs a dedicated advocate to help us give our patients a 5-star experience and keep us on time! You will have the incredible honor of working across all locations, as we care for the members of our community. NO Experience Needed: Prior medical office or eyecare experience are a plus but not required. We will be happy to train the right person with a great attitude, a helpful heart, and a love of learning! Some of your duties will include: Make our patients feel welcome, at ease and well cared for. Handle incoming and outgoing calls, speaking in a professional tone with the client on the phone to handle their concern/issue/reason for calling, appointment requests (scheduling, canceling and rescheduling appts) Display an empathetic manner with the goal to understand and address patient needs and concerns. Assisting our office professionals; document in pulling charts, updating records, opening and closing of the office. Maintain and order contact lens supplies Spending 15+ minutes with each patient before the doctor comes in, performing duties such as measuring retinal function, peripheral vision, and retinal thickness; and taking retinal photographs. (You’ll be using the same type of instruments NASA uses on the space station!) Taking notes for the doctor during the patient’s exam, organize and document procedures for accurate patient records, ordering tests based on the doctor’s diagnosis, and accurately coding procedures Consistent cross-training for optimum career growth and development (expected and offered).
