Position Overview: The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to service students at Sarah Reed Children's Center -St. Ann's campus . This position is for a therapeutic learning classroom for grades 9 - 12. Benefits of the Position Salary is based upon education. Bachelor's $62,640 Master's $64,781 Master's +15 $66,195 Master's +30 $67,907 187 work days per year 10 paid sick days, 3 Personal Days, 2 Emergency Days Full Medical-PPO, Dental, Prescription, and Vision Coverage for Employee and Dependents on hire date. ($75.00/ month premium+ deductible) Required minimum 8.5% contribution to Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System (PSERS). Required Qualifications: - Certification in Special Education 7-12 or PK-12 Desired Qualifications: - Certification in regular education. - Additional Core Secondary Math Certification - Prior experience working with EI students - Experience utilizing Positive Behavior Supports - Knowledge of various disability categories (i.e. Developmental Delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language) Essential Functions : - Developing lessons and teaching children in classrooms - Conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for services - Writing Evaluation Reports and Individualized Education Plans for students - Providing services as determined through the IEP process - Inputting data utilizing the PELICAN system Job Posted by ApplicantPro
